The William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund funds Naugatuck Discovery. The fund has committed funding through 2013. The United Way of Naugatuck and Beacon Falls serves as fiduciary for Naugatuck Discovery.
In 2009, Naugatuck Discovery applied to the Connecticut Community Foundation for a $10,000 Lit Links grant to help open the lines of communication between the preschool and kindergarten community in Naugatuck. Discovery has provided 2 years of professional development and peer partnerships to kindergarten and preschool teachers and still continues to do so with additional funding for this initiative provided by Connecticut Community Foundation.
In March 2010, Naugatuck Discovery applied for grant funding through the William Casper Graustein Memorial Foundation to complete our Blueprint for Young Children in Naugatuck. The Graustein Foundation awarded funding to Discovery through March 2012 to complete this task.
In August 2011, Discovery applied for a grant through Community Mediation to hold a Community Conversation on Education. We have been awarded $1500.00 grant to hold a community conversation on education, slated for March 2012.
Naugatuck Savings Bank Foundation has awarded Naugatuck Discovery a grant for $4,250.00 for the continued support of the Parent Tool Box Series for 2011-2012
